KATRINA PLOOF

When designer Michael Montgomery came to me with his renderings for Heidi, he brought along piles of research, including a collection of quotes on the women's movement  ranging from Abigail Adams to Marily Monroe.  We decided to incorporate some of these words into the design.  In Mad Cow's tiny space the floor became a kind of "Director's Notes" for the play.  Both audience and actor stood on the history that  Wasserstein's play itself was built upon.  And it made for great conversation during intermission.
