Directing Theatre - Life Under A Paper Moon
I enjoy creating work that lives in the imagination, and there is no better audience for that than young people. When Artistic Director Jeff Revels offered this project, I jumped at the chance to tell Raja's story.
We incorporated a segment of the Czech the opera "Bundibar" into this prodcution. The children of Terezin performed the opera, written for them by Hans Krasa, more than 50 times within the concentration camp.
15000 children went into the camp at Terezin, 100 came out. Krasa died in Auschwitz in 1944.

"The Rep’s Sideways Series presents plays that approach important issues and ideas in an artistic way, and Butterfly is a perfect choice for this stage. Ploof and the cast approach the story with a remarkable sense of humanity and care." - Orlando Sentinel
